This was the one detail I actively planned for the "moving in" storyline -- I figured it was high time we learned more about the Gorgon!  I didn't realize until a year or so myself, but of course the Gorgon's betrothed -- and of course her parents arranged it.  Unlike Aylia, the Gorgon's parents are reasonable and realistic about their children's needs, so the Gorgon finds the idea of arranged marriages both culturally and personally acceptable.  She doesn't understand Aylia's refusal to obey her parents.
