Transportation magic is certainly flashy!  Hard to just explain away somebody teleporting in, too.  It's funny how quickly Loretta's attitude towards convincing her parents can be -- for two years she's refused to admit one thing, and now, one hint that it could save the sword she loves from certain danger, and she's throwing it all at them immediately, not to mention confusingly.  Linnea would be banging her head on the wall in exasperation at this method of handling things.
