When my sister and I first came up with the idea of Carolynn, she had the very amusing idea that pretentious people might try to call her instrument a "blowpipe," in order to make it sound more elegant and less like, well, a fish that has pipes stuck in it.  At first she thought that Carolynn might be stuck up about this, but I soon realized she'd be exactly the opposite -- she'd consider pretentious nicknames to be idiotic, and insist upon her instrument being called by its proper name.
