Most humans, even in Aylia's world, would not recover from the shock of a dragon looming in front of them so easily.  Especially since this one is enormous -- at least four or five times Cecelia's size, which is pretty big.  But Aylia doesn't intimidate easily, especially after hanging around Cecelia and Daria as frequently as she has.  The reason this dragon is so huge is that his species never stops growing; their growth slows a lot after adulthood, but old dragons still keep on getting bigger.
