The "person" Deirdre and X were both based on is the same one who did this guest comic for me awhile back.  Way back in the summer of 2002, the three of us were roommates, and I still consider her and Shada to be my two best friends.  The only reason we stopped being roommates is that I got married shortly after that (which of course I don't regret), but we still saw each other almost every day before X's (and Deirdre's) real-life counterpart graduated and left the state.  (Sniff.)
