It's not like Aylia looks forward to her roommates getting in trouble -- or her aunt being mad about things.  But when she's going crazy with frustrated boredom, anything is welcome if sufficiently distracting.  Dron wasn't bored at all -- he's interested in basically everything -- but for that very reason, he's always open to distractions that seem moderately entertaining.  And Dron doesn't care that much about personal privacy.  If he wants to know something, he'll poke his nose into it.
