Daria's a genius in so many ways -- none of which have to do with social things.  Which is why her innocence so frequently becomes naivete (such as, for instance, assuming the best about everyone and always taking them at their word -- even "Zangaria").  Eric's different.  He's got a bit of a malicious streak.  His machine is something my husband has wanted ever since we got a bunch of neighbors who liked playing extremely inconsiderately loud, thumping music constantly.
