Poor fathers, always getting ties for their birthdays and Christmases.  Ties make such boring, predictable gifts, and yet dads can often be so hard to buy for that it's hard to think of anything more interesting!  Naturally, Jenny would go to her father-in-law for help in figuring out what to get her father, and King Richard would certainly have . . . interesting ideas.  He's quite fond of experimenting with magic, and while he's sort of reasonably good with simple things, he isn't with everything.
