Jenny's mother is extremely touchy and extremely easily offended.  Jenny's sister likes to say whatever is on her mind, and even finds some glee in making their mother angry.  For obvious reasons, this tends to put the-family-peacemaker-Jenny into an awkward position whenever they get near each other for long.  Edwardine's almost always furious with Jessi over something, which means Jenny spends most of her time with them placating their mother and trying to make peace.
