Edriss is very smart and very pigheaded.  Like Aylia, she studies every subject that interests in her depth, without any prodding or aid.  Unlike Aylia, however, she often assumes this means there's nothing a teacher can offer her apart from a glowing report and passing grade.  While Edriss has more knowledge of the subject than any other student in Dron's class, he's evaluating what she actually learned from him, not what she knows about the subject -- and that's nothing.
