Have I ever mentioned this before?  There are two kinds of mermaid music, only one of which is grating and annoying -- it's just that mermaids almost never play the beautiful variety for other species, a bit from snobbery, but mainly because it never sounds right above water anyway.  While Carolynn and Charson strongly favor the "annoying" type of music, and Gundurun excels at either, Melody really only composes the "beautiful" variety, though she's happy to play annoying pieces.
