See, once Daria gets an idea in her head, it tends to fixate there . . . until some next distraction appears.  She's never actually gone crazy about borrowing books from a library before, but she's seen Aylia do quite constantly, so she has to be assuming that it's something really fun and exciting she's never tried before, because why else would Aylia do it?  It does make me wonder, however, when Aylia found the time to read two thousand books in one week.  She's busy nowadays!
