I've been wanting to do a storyline with Loretta's birthday party this year for awhile now, but I couldn't find a natural place to fit it in.  Finally, I decided to put in this strip, paving the way for when I did find the right place for that storyline before the semester end.  (Wry grin.)  It strikes me as in-character for Loretta to want a huge bash for her twentieth birthday, since she's quite social and very rich, and she has lots of acquaintences she'd be happy to see in passing again.
