In many ways, Felincia leaving was much easier on their father.  She left, yes, but she stayed with the pack, and has never questioned her father's role as alpha male.  Davin, however, is not only leaving but quitting, and moving to a country his parents can't visit, in addition.  He's also taking off with much less warning, and with a far less obviously acceptable reason.  Getting married makes sense, but changing countries for a girlfriend?  Especially one his parents have never met!
