When I first created Carolynn, with the help of her real-life counterpart (who drew this after staying at my house a few days), it was a very short leap to deciding she had musician friends.  Naturally, this lead to hours giggling and brainstorming over what sort of other weird instruments mermaid musicians might play.  We wound up coming up with three other mermaid musician characters, I sketched them out -- and, since this was long before introducing Carolynn -- I then had to wait.  And wait.  Till now!  :D
