Fourth -- and this is a major factor -- Aylia's changed schools this semester.  That's a lot of newness and unfamiliarity right there, making the newness and unfamiliarity of an actual new roommate unnecessary -- and perhaps even overkill and overwhelming.  Aylia could have survived, of course, but I think things will go much more smoothly with her dorm room being more comfortable and familiar, since the rest of the area around her -- while desired -- is kind of scary because it's new.
