"Academese," in case the term isn't self-explanatory, refers to that annoying combination of technobabble and stuffy writing that plagues way too many textbooks.  Most people find that dialect of writing frustratingly difficult to read; Aylia's so used to it she barely thinks about it, and Linnea actively prefers it to most other styles of writing.  By the way, Linnea is definitely stretching Aylia's words in the last panel -- Aylia said she didn't care at all, with no qualifications.  Linnea added those automatically.
