Aylia is not entirely a sympathetic person.  She's certainly not heartless, but she gets annoyed when people keep crying over the same problems, instead of trying to fix them.  This is probably because she grew up with a mother who cries and whines and guilt-trips instead of ever trying to fix her own problems; she's also impatient naturally.  Had Kuralla gone to, say, Jenny, she probably would have gotten a very sympathetic ear, but very little actual help.  Aylia's tactless, but does give good advice.
