When my husband proposed, he used these exact words: "So I was wondering if you would, like, marry me sometime this summer?"  (It was adorably endearing.)  So from personal experience, I can say that proposals don't always go the perfect, smooth, romantic way you would expect them to from watching romance movies.  But, you know, that's actually great, especially in retrospect, because a moment can be so much more personal and sweet when it's not trying to be "best behavior-perfect."
