Of course, newly-formed backbone or not, Jenny's still very prone to worry about hurting other people's feelings, even Alassa's.  Not that Alassa cares -- it's very easy to offend her, but her heart is so hard that it doesn't tend to get hurt.  This situation is just so classic Alassa -- she doesn't care why the party exists, who's going to be there, or whether the guest of honor would appreciate her presence.  She just wants to be part of every single gathering that could garnish her any attention (or, preferably, worship) at all.
