I don't think Daria has ever met Sissy, but she would have heard about her from Loretta, enough to understand what Aylia meant from context.  And I feel really bad for Aylia in this strip -- this is not a fun time for her, and I couldn't just gloss over it, hard as it is to find humor in the situation.  Fortunately she's not moping all by herself (that would be impossible to make funny), and Daria's a good source of humor in most situations.  But, man, I do feel sorry for Aylia.  :(
