Amusingly enough, the idea for this storyline didn't come from me -- it came from a fan who e-mailed me with a ton of ideas, most of them out of character, or wrong for the tone of the story, indeed.  But when he mentioned that he thought it would be fun to see X's and Aylia's mothers meet, I realized there was a way I could do that, without derailing the course of the plot as I'd planned it, and I decided it would make for a fun storyline.  Hence this strip following directly from Strip #1,242.
