But then, on Christmas Day last year, I was sitting around, doodling aimlessly, and this character jumped out of the page at me.  I knew immediately that she was Shada's character -- and how she would fit into the story -- and even most of her past -- and I was shocked and delighted that it came to me that easily, after so many years of effort!  Rarely do I get such a spurt of inspiration, especially out of absolutely nowhere.
